Carmelo has just started as Associate Professor of Zoology at his alma mater – the University of Catania. Carmelo leaves a tenured research-only position at the Institute for Marine Biological Resources
and Biotechnology (IRBIM) of Italian National Research Council.
Carmelo has spent three years at IRBIM, after moving back to Italy from his first permanent position (at the University of Portsmouth, UK). It has been three very productive and engaging years, and Carmelo will most likely continue to collaborate with the National Research Council.
