New Lab member – Deborah Vicari
The lab has a new lab member: Deborah Vicari! Deborah recently joined the lab as a Non-tenure-track Assistant Professor (“RTDa” in the Italian system) and she’s going to be in the lab for the next three years.
Deborah has obtained a PhD from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK and her main interests are in applying geometric morphometric tools to better understand the evolution of toothed whales (the group comprising, among others, orcas and dolphins).
The main research project she will carry in the lab, involving themes such as the effect of phenotypic integration on the evolutionary process had been originally submitted as a MSCA Fellowship with Carmelo as a supervisor. The project obtained an MSCA “Seal of Excellence” and has been subsequently funded by a program specifically aimed at attracting talent who had obtained a “Seal of Excellence” (the program is funded by the Italian Ministry for University and Research).
You may read more about Deborah’s background and interests in the Lab Members page.
We look forward to working with her!
