Damiano Trovato presents at the Young Researchers Meeting in Ecology and Aquatic Sciences
Damiano Trovato, a master’s student in our lab, gave a talk at the Young Researchers Meeting in Ecology and Aquatic Sciences (the annual “SItE Giovani” meeting), held on 11–12 June 2026 at the University of Milano-Bicocca. The meeting is organized by the Italian Society of Ecology (S.It.E.) together with the Italian Association of Oceanology and Limnology (AIOL) and brings together early-career researchers and PhD students working across marine, freshwater and terrestrial systems.
Damiano’s presentation – entitled “More than species discrimination: macroevolutionary variation of otolith shape in wrasses” – covered his current work in the lab and explored the evolution of otolith shape in fishes from a macroevolutionary perspective, combining geometric morphometrics with a phylogenetic comparative framework. Congratulations to Damiano on his first conference presentation!
