I am a bioarchaeologist, and my research
focuses on the paleopathology of pre- and historical human populations. My
doctoral thesis concerned the problem of using skeletal injuries as a marker of
biological stress and quality of life in past human populations. I am currently
learning how to use the possibilities of geometric morphometrics in the analysis
of the variation in the anatomy of individual elements of the human skeleton
(mainly vertebrae) and their relationship with the risk of certain pathologies,
e.g. spondylolithic fractures of the lumbar vertebrae.
